With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Julia Ann Walker, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, on February 6, 2025. She was 84 years old.

Born on February 8, 1940 in Beccaria, Pennsylvania, Julia lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family. She loved baking, reading, crafting, and shopping.  Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed.

Julia married David Walker on November 28, 1959 in Janesville, Pennsylvania.  They lived in Sicklerville and Cecil, New Jersey before moving to Lake Dallas, Texas on April 10, 1974. They created a loving home where all were welcomed and treated as family for 65 years.

Julia was a loving mother to Jolene, David, Gary, and Jeffery. She poured her heart into raising them, providing endless support, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her children were her pride and joy, and she celebrated their accomplishments with immense pride. While they were growing up you would find her driving them all around town or on a bleacher watching them during all their band and athletic activities.

Her role as "Grandma" was one she treasured. She adored her grandchildren Katherine, Lauren, David James, and Matthew. She created countless precious memories with each one from birthday parties, homecoming parades, going to the movies and Chuck E Cheese, attending their school and sporting events and baking cookies. Julia also showered them with affection and wisdom all of which left an indelible mark on their lives.

Julia was actively a part of the Lake Dallas community for 50 years.  She was an active volunteer in concession stands, a stage band and competition chaperone, and a member of The Birthday Club for Swisher Cemetery.  Her first job in Lake Dallas was at the Burger Shack and she worked many summers at the Lake Cities Sun.  For over 20 years she worked for Lake Dallas ISD in the food services area in the High School Snack Bar and eventually as the Elementary Cafeteria manager. For the next 15 years, she worked alongside her son Gary at MCI Planners running the Fulfillment Warehouse. In retirement, Julia often commented that she didn't know how she found time to work with her busy social schedule that was so full with friends and church.

A devout member of the Lake Cities United Methodist Church for over 50 years, she found great community and purpose in her faith. Julia served in numerous capacities including Sunday school teacher, MYF, MYF ski trips, Mystery Ramble, Golden Agers, Wednesday Bible Study and UWF where she specialized in sending cards with a personal message to wish all joy and comfort for all occasions.

Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Julia never met a stranger.  There was never a person she wouldn't talk to and make friends with. Once she met you, she always remembered you. Her kindness extended beyond her family to touch the lives of many in her community.

Julia is survived by her husband, Dave; children,  Jolene, David [wife Karin], Gary [adopted family member Davie Reynolds] and Jeffery; her grandchildren, Katherine [husband Bob Wimmer], Lauren [partner Jeremy Warren], David James, and Matthew [wife Sarah]; siblings, Joyce Mazoff, Janet Hair [husband Terry], Sandra Laccheo, Sharon Allison, Diana Nowlin [husband Mike], Ronald Bierlair, Pamela O'Donnell [husband Lee], and Chester Miller [wife Penny]; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Julia Round.
