Ann Fitts passed away on July 25, 2024 in Flower Mound, Texas.  Ann was born November 18, 1941 in Nevada County, Arkansas to Fred and Myrtle (Stone) Womack. She graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1959. She held degrees from Midwestern University, University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University. She had a long career as an educator, serving as an elementary and secondary teacher and finishing her career as the principal of Lake Dallas Elementary for 12 years. Students and teachers alike described her as loving and caring, an inspiration and a mentor, a favorite teacher, admired and respected, and mostly a true friend.

In 1961 she married Jimmy Fitts, a man she described as "the best thing that ever happened to me", and they had a loving marriage for 63 years. Ann and Jimmy lived in Nocona, Texas for many years where she was active in the United Methodist Church and The Thursday Literary Club. They made many life long friendships during those years. They moved to Lewisville in 1990, their current home. For the last 18 years they have enjoyed time and many wonderful friends at their winter home in Naples, FL in the Forest Glen Golf and Country Club community.

Ann is survived by her husband, Jimmy Fitts of Lewisville, TX and Naples, FL, son Lee Fitts and wife Barbie, of Lake Dallas, TX, daughter Jean  Graham and husband Jay of Flower Mound, TX and grandchildren, James Graham of Culver City, CA, Kay and Kara Graham of Flower Mound, TX, sisters Sue Wisdom, Sydney Nowell and Nancy Jordan, a brother Larry Stokes, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on August 10, 2024 at Trietsch Memorial UMC in Flower Mound.
