Joseph Hirtzan Acosta ("Joe") of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family and friends on the evening of Friday, October 25, 2024, in his hometown of Carrollton, Texas. Joe was born in La Union, El Salvador, to Juan Angel Acosta and Ernestina Rios on August 20, 1947. He is survived by three of his siblings, Luis Acosta, Ethel Castro and Carlos Acosta; and his one-and only spouse, Maria Mercedes Acosta, and their four children, Maribel Grande, John Matthew Acosta, Hirtzan Joseph Acosta, and Julissa Mercedes Garza ; and his beloved son-in-laws, Alex Grande and Fernando Garza, and beloved daughter-in-law, Fatima Acosta.

First and foremost, Joe was a strong man of faith, a legacy that he passed down to his children and his ten grandchildren, Karla, Alex, Jennifer, Nicole, Gabriela, Fernando, Isabella, Daniel, Maria, and, last but not least, Andres.  They all cherished their Grandpa.

Another part of his legacy is that he was a sincere and hardworking man.  If he promised you something, he would deliver it with roses.  Despite his humble background, Joe graduated with an accounting administration degree. He was a fabulate talent in El Salvador until he decided to take his trade to the United States in 1967.

At a young adult age, Joe was very courageous when he decided to expand his profession in United States.  What helped him was that he was very hard working, honest and kept his nose clean.  His hard work and commitment later allowed his children to go to private school in New York.

For the longest time, Joe worked as a logistics manager at First Coin Investors, one of the largest coin investment firms in the world, whose President admired Joe so much that it led to many opportunities for him and his family. Joe eventually availed himself of those opportunities in Dallas, Texas.

Joe has been one of the prominent business leaders in Irving, Texas, since the 1990s.  While he has had several successful businesses, his love of cars led him to own and operate a dealership for over 30 years!  He was a pioneer in Irving, Texas.

But, one of Joe's most prestigious honors was in being a loyal husband, committed father and loving son.  He taught his children and grandchildren how to love, respect, stand up for themselves and even how to, at the age of 3, lick an ice cream at Theodore Rosevelt Park, or, at the age of five, ride a bicycle in Eisenhower Park, New York.

Joe was our Patriarch; gregarious, loving and full of life. No one will ever replace or forget him!
