Josefina Puente de Olivares

April 5,1956 - August 24,1923

Josefina was a very courageous and strong woman who battled cancer for over 20 yrs. She is survived by her husband of 49 yrs. and her children Yvonne and David Olivares. Her devotion to the care and upbringing of her children was her priority throughout her life.

She lived and worked in the Dallas area for over 40 yrs. Her dedication to the community as a store manager, cafeteria manager, health care provider and volunteer for numerous organizations is only a few name tags she wore proudly.  Josefina was a great cook and always received everyone with open arms and served tamales, tacos, tostadas or whatever else she prepared.  She had a green thumb and enjoyed her garden. Everything she planted grew such as fruit trees, pecan trees, herbs and shrubs.

Josefina never had a bad day throughout her illness.  She was always up and ready to go. Her only complaint was that the day was not long enough for her. She was always up by 5 A.M. and never stopped.

Josefina lived a full life and her family, peers, friends and everyone she met will always carry her memory in their hearts.
