Jon Robert Flynt, 84, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on March 25, 2024 in Lewisville, Texas.

Jon was born September 8, 1939.  He grew up in Nocona, Texas where he lived with his parents R.E. Flynt and Frances Flynt and sister Diana Flynt Hrabovsky. Jon had many happy memories with his family and friends growing up.  One of his best friends from childhood was Don Boswell. They met playing outside in a sand cave Jon dug up near his home. The two little boys played for hours that day in 1946.  Don and Jon remained friends throughout Jon's life.

Jon graduated from Nocona High School in 1958.  He met the love of his life, Carole Willding, in 1964 on a blind date. They fell in love fast and both decided to move to New York City to work at the Texas Pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair. They purchased matching wedding rings while there and got married as soon as they got back to Texas!  Carole and Jon married October 31, 1964 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas.
After the marriage, Jon finished college earning a Bachelors Degree from North Texas State University. He worked as an insurance adjuster for many year. Jon was an intellectual and very curious about life. Friends and family admired his sense of wonder. Any subject of interest to Jon, he researched thoroughly and questioned everything about it until he was satisfied he knew all he could. He had many books and read many books! He loved doing Algebra problems for fun!

The marriage with Carole produced two children, Jon David and Elizabeth Anne.  He loved his children so much and attended many of their athletic endeavors to support them. As his children became adults, he loved learning about their careers and interests. Jon adored his grandchildren "Mr. Miles" and "Baby Sydney" as he called them. He enjoyed hearing about their adventures through the years.
When his wife, Carole, had a massive stroke in January 2011, he became her primary caregiver for over 10 years until she passed away in 2021. He said his caregiving for Carole was the most meaningful thing he ever did in his entire life. He was truly devoted to her.
Jon was in the United States Marine Corp Reserves in the 60's and 70's and just missed being called up to serve in Vietnam War.

Jon is survived by his children Jon D.  Flynt (spouse Veronica Flynt) and Elizabeth Wentworth (spouse Mark Wentworth) along with two grandchildren Miles Wentworth and Sydney Wentworth. Jon is also survived by his sister-in-law Sue Boggan (his main care coordinator later in life—he was very thankful for all her help and support over the years), and his nieces Kathy Hrabovsky and Suzanne Hrabovsky, and many other relatives and friends.
