John True, known by many as John Bayley, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Born in Oklahoma City, OK, John lived a life marked by devotion — to God, to his family, and to every person he loved with unwavering sincerity.

A worship leader, a pastor‑teacher, and a man whose heart beat in rhythm with heaven, John carried a tenderness that made those he was with secure and a passion for Jesus that made others feel seen. When Johnny stepped into a room, his humor and compassion loosened the atmosphere and invited people to relax and be themselves.

John was a creator at heart. He found joy in art, music, and design that reflected the beauty he saw in this world and the ideas received from God. He loved deeply, fully, and without restraint.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Esther True; his daughters Nickel Tonkinson and Natasha Danielle; his son Nathaniel Bayley; his sisters Liz, Judy, and Patty; and his eight cherished grandchildren, each of whom he covered in daily prayer.

John's legacy is one of faith, perseverance, and wholehearted love — a life lived in service to God, his family, and the body of Christ. The songs he wrote and sang (and continues to sing), the lives he touched, and the love he poured out in actions and prayers will continue to impact the hearts of all who knew him. (Isaiah 55:11)

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 2 at 1:00 PM at The Shepherd's House 225 Milton St., Lewisville, TX 75057. (If attending, please dress in colors that make you feel joyful.)

The family invites all who knew John to worship, remember, and rejoice in the hope that anchored his life: that in Christ, death is not an ending but a glorious continuation — a new unfolding of the eternal life he began the day he met Jesus.
