John Ernest Oliver 77, died Wednesday February 28, 2024 in Lewisville, TX with family and friends by his side.  He was born August 10, 1946 in Springfield, MO to George Ernest and Juanita Elizabeth Oliver.

He graduated Halfway High School in, Halfway MO, in 1964.  He later followed that up with two degrees geared to his career in Technology.

He married Lois Groene on November 21, 1973.  Other than family, the thing he was most proud of was serving his country in the U.S. Army.  He ended his military career as a Drill Instructor, helping train the new soldiers.  He was Honorably discharged April 1, 1979.

John and his wife of 50 years were blessed with three children:  Rebecca Lynn, Gus Michael, and Lisa Ann.  They have 15 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.  We believe his greatest thrill was spoiling the grandkids every chance he got.  He had a separate nickname for each of them.

He is survived by his brother, William, sister Donna, son Michael Oliver,  daughters Becky Ibison and Lisa Williams, and all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by both his parents and three brothers.

Visitation will be at Grace Community Assembly of God church in Flower Mound, TX at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, with a service immediately following.  He will be interned later at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

John touched so many lives, and even more we are not aware of.  He will definitely be missed.
