John B. Newsom, age 96, of Lewisville, Texas. Born March 30, 1929, in Kerens, Texas and passed away, Thursday, April 10, 2025. John served in the US Army as an ambulance driver from 1946 to 1949. While stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, he met the love of his life, Irmgard (Liz). They married in 1949 and spent 64 wonderful years together until she passed away in 2013. He missed her terribly until the day that they were reunited.

John is survived by his daughter, Melanie Yearta of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Trina Newsom of Justin, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents and siblings.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd at 11:00AM at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas. Burial will follow at the Dallas/ Fort Worth National Cemetery.
