JoAnne Chapman Green, beloved wife of George Calvin Green was born on May 20, 1943, in Hartsville, South Carolina to Robert And Pearl Chapman.   She passed away peacefully at her home on December 7, 2023, at the age of 80.

Joanne was the youngest of five siblings and was protected and cherished by her parents, brothers, and a sister, all of whom have passed away.

The love of JoAnne's life was George C Green, and they shared a beautiful love story that spanned 63 years.  They were married on July 8, 1960, and together they built a loving family and were blessed with three children, Robert Calvin (Susan) Green of Flower Mound, Texas, George Michael (Pam) Green of Argyle, Texas, and Donna (Gary) Phillips of Krum, Texas.  They were also blessed with seven grandchildren, Robert Calvin (Ashley) Green, Michael (Lainie) Phillips, April Green, Lisa (Kyle) Burt, Catherine Green, Alicia "Nikki" Phillips, and Brandon Green and all the Dallas Fort Worth area.   With blessing continuing with 12 great grandchildren, Samantha, Reece, Brooks, Avery, Parker, Briggs, Brooklynn, Maxx, Ace, Aretta, Abby Grace and most recently Baby Bear that all knew her as MeMe.

George and Jo Anne relocated to Lewisville in 1975 where she worked at local banks until 1991.  She then became involved in a family venture, ProTow Wrecker Service, which has since become the largest towing company in the state.   She retired in 2013 and focused on the simpler things in life.   That year was the first time she entered and won a 5k marathon because there was no slowing her down.

JoAnne had a deep connection to the beaches of South Carolina which began at an early age. At 16 years old she was crowned Miss Myrtle Beach, a title she wore with pride.  Throughout her life, some of her happiest memories were vacations surrounded by family and friends at the beach, where she could put her toes in the sand and feel the warmth of sun on her face.

In addition to her family and love for the beach, Jo Anne has a strong faith and was an active member of New Providence Baptist Church in Hartsville throughout her childhood and early adult life.  She volunteered her time there playing the piano and lifting up the congregation through music.  She later was an active member at First Baptist Church in Lewisville. It was at New Providence that she was baptized at the age of 12, marking the beginning of her walk in faith.

Upon her retirement Jo Anne spent time doing what she loved most.  She found joy in spoiling all of her grandchildren and traveling extensively with her best friend and partner in life George.

In honor of her deep connection to her faith, the family kindly request donations be made to the churches above in her honor.  Contributions will support the churches" missions and continue JoAnnes' legacy of faith and service.

Jo Anne will be remembered for her dedication, love and devotion to her family, friends, and community.  She had a warm and kind spirit and always went above and beyond to help others.  JoAnne's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday December 12, 2023, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Lewisville.  The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 Am.  Following the service, graveside services will be held at Old Hall Cemetery.

Jo Anne Chapman Green leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience.  Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and those whose lives she touched.
