Jimmy Ray Morgan, of Cobbtown, passed away on Monday evening July 27, 2026, at his residence.

Jimmy was born in Reidsville on February 17, 1947 and was a son of Louis Morgan and Maudeena Mack Morgan. He was a lifelong resident of Cobbtown and after thirty-five years of service, retired from the Local Union 96 having worked as an insulator working in several power plants over the years including Plant Hatch.

Jimmy was a Christian and loved building with his hands and could build anything with his hands. He married Jeanne Wright in 2007. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Morgan, David Morgan, "Donny" Roy Morgan, and his sisters, Thelma Mack and Lois Asbridge.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanne Wright Morgan; his children, Timmy Morgan (Regina), Gretchen Kingery (Lee) and Brian Morgan (Marcie) all of Cobbtown; his brothers, John Morgan (Judy) of Metter, and Ronny Morgan (Sandy) of Cobbtown; his sisters, Joyce Driggers of Belleville, Marti Lehart of Statesboro, and Patsy Martin (Donald) of Statesboro; grandchildren, Augusta, Ashley, Allana, Kacy, Trent, Cole, and Trey; Fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service date and time will be released by the funeral home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 5 until 7 o'clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

Interment will follow in Sunlight Cemetery.
