Jerry Durant of Lake Dallas, Texas, passed away surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 24, 1952, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Marvin Kenneth "Ken" Durant and Judith "Catherine" Westbrook Durant.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1972 to 1973. On his birthday, November 24, 1984, he married the love of his life, Tamara Kay LaFavor of Denver, Colorado, beginning a devoted marriage that would span four decades.

A lifelong automotive enthusiast, Jerry spent most of his career working alongside his father in several ventures, from car rentals and independent dealerships to a unique business in gold electroplating car emblems. His dedication, creativity, and work ethic were evident in all he did.

Jerry's greatest joys were his family and his faith. He was a loving father to Brandon Kenneth Durant of Buffalo, New York, and to Brittany Kay-Lyn Durant and her husband Austin Warner Van Dusen of Lewisville, Texas. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Tammy Kay Durant of Flower Mound, Texas; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; 12 nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and nephews.

He was deeply involved in his church community and served faithfully as the AWANA Game Director at Crossroads Bible Church, where he shared his love of Christ and fun with children for many years.

Jerry's passions included music, bowling, boating, fishing, skiing, and swimming. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his deep love for his children and family, and his unwavering kindness.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and joy, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
