Jeff Puskos, Sr., 76, had a long battle with dementia and eventually succumbed on October 7, 2023. He passed away peacefully while listening to Jazz music (his favorite) with his wife and two children by his side. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana, and graduated from Andrean High School, where he met Margaret. After a short nine years of dating, the high school sweethearts married in 1971. His work eventually moved them from Crown Point, Indiana, to Memphis, Tennessee, and later settling in a suburb of Dallas, Texas.

After high school, he began working at his lifelong place of employment, the United States Postal Service (USPS). He started as a Mail Carrier on the "best" route along the beachfront of Lake Michigan while also attending night school at Purdue University Calumet. During his school years, Jeff was drafted to the Army and served as a Radio Teletype Operator with Company C, 304 Signal Battalion, Eighth Army in Seoul, Korea. When he returned, he resumed his position at the USPS and also continued his education earning his degree from Purdue University Calumet in Architectural Technology. He later began commuting into Chicago when the USPS asked him to help out in the Facilities department. From there, he grew within the organization to become a Project Manager and oversaw the building of post offices in multiple states. Jeff retired from the USPS after 40 years of service.

In addition to being a hard worker, he always made time for his family whether it was coaching his kids' sports' teams or having a game night (he will always be the reigning UNO champ!). He enjoyed playing racquetball, tennis (bowling, not so much!), and cheering on the Green Bay Packers! He was also an avid reader on all things World War II. After retirement, he was able to pursue his passion of woodworking. He enjoyed the process of it and his family benefitted, whether it was toy chests for the grandchildren, wine racks for the adults or bedside tables for his wife, he was always up for a project. Jeff loved visiting the Turks and Caicos Islands, smoking sweet cigars and, of course, sipping on his beloved Southern Comfort. His sense of humor was one of the most well-known characteristics that set him apart from others. It was dry, it was witty, and sometimes risqué!

Jeff (aka Poppy, Pooh Sr., Pük) is survived by his loving family: Margaret (wife); Jeff Jr. (son) and his wife, Jordan, and their children, Brooks and Maggie; Crystal (daughter) and her husband, Brett, and their children, Ella and Jax; Phyllis Maloney (sister); John Satka (brother-in-law); Olga Puskos (aunt); and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by Mary and Steve Puskos (parents), Joyce Satka (sister), Johnny Satka (nephew) and Patrick Maloney (brother-in-law).

Visitation from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, October 27, 2023, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas 75067. Rosary at 9:45 am with the Funeral Mass following at 10:30 am, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 5201 Cross Timbers Road, Flower Mound, Texas 75022.
