Jeanne Rae Flowers Lang, 90, was born in 1934 in Guymon, Oklahoma – a bright spot in the epicenter of the horrific dust storms of the Depression era. Indians in the area would walk through the doors of their home, uninvited, just to see a real, live, red-headed baby.

The family moved back to Gainesville, Texas, where her father became a policeman. Jeanne was an only child and much loved by friends and extended family. She made quite an impression, especially in high school as a class officer, class favorite, editor of the yearbook, and head of the Leopardettes, a large cheering section of the football team.

In 1954, she married Paul Lang, and they began a family of four children – Cheryl, David, Kerri Lynn, and Jonathan. Jeanne was a stay-at-home, dedicated mother.

Career moves brought them to Abilene for ten years, where both were active members of Highland Church of Christ and then to Odessa for six years, where they learned the meaning of "MOJO." The next move was to Denver, helping to build the fabulous Casa Bonita restaurant, and then to Lewisville, Texas, and eventual retirement.

Jeanne passed away on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, in Abilene, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Asa Lee Flowers and Clara Sims; and her daughters, Cheryl and Kerri Lang. She is survived by her husband Paul Lang; her sons, David Lang and his wife Stephanie; her son Jonathan Lang and his wife Randa; and her grandchildren, Sarah, Benjamin, Andrew, Brian, Ashley, and Brady Lang.

Giving love to all was a centerpiece of her life, and she will be remembered for it. Visitation for the family will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at 2 pm at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas. The funeral service will follow immediately afterward at 3 pm. Graveside burial will occur the following day, Sunday, October 6th, at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.
