Jamie Lynn Starrett August 16th, 1961- October 9th, 2023

Our little world lost one of its most precious crown jewels on October 9, 2023.
Our beloved Jamie Lynn Starrett has left this earth to be reunited with her adoring parents, James and Sophia Hayes in their heavenly home.

Born in Dallas,Texas, Jamie was the sunshine of her parent's heart and she grew up sharing that lovely light with all who knew her.

She met the love of her life in middle school. She knew from the first moment that he was her forever and they were very rarely ever seen apart. Jamie married her "long-haired hippie love" Greg Starrett, in June of 1979 and they began the rest of their lives by building their home and starting a family.

Jamie was the proudest and loving mother of three children and even prouder still a most adoring Mimi to seven grandchildren. Her most treasured time was spent with them.

Her favorite pastime was crafting and creating wonderful things. An amazing talent she shared with her mother Sophie, Jamie always encouraged the love of creating any medium of art, with her children and grandchildren. Jamie considered herself an avid crafter, but as her mother before her; she was much more than that.
She was an artist. From woodworking to needlework , ;to paper crafts, painting and even jewelry making she beautifully created it all.

Her passion truly shone in all the beautiful personalized art pieces she created for her family celebrations. She loved crafting, creating and decorating for birthdays and holidays. Making those memorable times lovely and unique was her specialty.

Her talents and warmheartedness were not just limited to her friends and family. Her kindness was shared with all , and especially extended to her years of employment at the Lewisville ISD. As far back as her cafeteria serving days, she always made certain no kiddo in need was ever getting just a plain old cheese sandwich on her watch. She cared, loved, and was there for all those kids as well as personally going above and beyond for her employees. Jamie's generosity knew no bounds.

The Wife who loved, the Mom who nurtured, and the Mimi who made everything special from the fun times to the creative snacks, and as the Sweetheart of all Jamie Lynn Starrett, will always be imprinted with love on our hearts, and will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew her.

Jamie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sophia Hayes. She is survived by husband Greg Starrett, their children; Nick Starrett and wife Kristi , Tina Clark and husband Matt, Josh Starrett and wife Jackie. Grandchildren; Samantha Nichols and husband Rick , Jason Brown  and Ramzi Starrett , Jacob, Jaden and Avery Clark, Lucy and Addison Starrett. Great-grandchildren; Connor Nichols and Nevaeh Brown

A celebration of life will be held on October 15, 2023 at
Mulkey Mason Funeral Home
740 Edmonds Ln.
Lewisville, TX 75067.
Chapel opens at 1 PM with services starting at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Jamie's name to the American diabetes association.
