Ivory "Jack" Tidwell, aka Jackie to family

Born June 24, 1948 in Bakersfield, California

Died November 6, 2023 in Dallas, Texas  after many years of health problems related to Agent Orange exposure.

He was born to Jack and Joan Tidwell in Bakersfield, and graduated from North High School in 1967. Upon completing high school, Jack enlisted in the US Navy and was soon deployed to Vietnam, where he served on the river boats and as a proud SeaBee during the Vietnam War. Jack was a devoted father, husband, and grandfather who loved his family, his country, and God. Jack believed in choosing experiences over things, and was always taking his family on some sort of adventure, whether it was SCUBA diving, or travel. It was traveling the world with his wife Diane, especially to Oman, where he gained many cherished memories and friendships. What made Jack truly unique was his self-taught knowledge of computers and electronics. He was a true pioneer, teaching computer classes for the Bakersfield Adult School in the early 80's, and designing and creating many computer technologies used around the world to this day. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Diane, parents Jack and Berniece Tidwell and Joan and JR Ashby, sister Jody, and brother Jason. Survivors include his daughters Leah Mann (Scott) and Rebekah Segoviano (Felix), son Matthew Tidwell (Nichole), grandsons Thomas, Cristian, Felix, and Corbin, sister Dianna, step- brother John, and numerous extended family.
