Inez Dixie Jean Harris-Cureton was born March 4, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Alma and Willie Weddington Sr. Affectionally called "Babysister", 7 siblings preceded her in death. James "Smitty" Smith, Mary Sykes, Eugene "Sony" Butler, Carrie Mae Washington, Willie Weddington Jr., Jacqueline Weddington, and Walter "DoMe" Weddington. Born into a family of believers, her faith in God was instilled at birth, where she would carry out her beliefs and gifts as one of the Weddington singers. The family was known for traveling coast to coast, spreading the gospel in song.  In February 1965, she married Frank Harris Sr. To this union, 3 children were born. Frank "DoFunny" Harris, Debra Hardrick, and Victoria Flenorl. Frank and Victoria preceded her in death. Her lifetime career began at the Department of Public Aid in 1970, where she would serve until retiring in 2003. December 18, 1999, Inez married Rolland Cureton. Her life was full of service and dedication to the church under the direction of her parents. She served as a choir member at the New Commandment Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Robinson for over 2 decades. The service was elevated to the mother's board at the Tabernacle of Faith under the leadership of Michael T Washington. Her belief in the traditional church, Sunday School, and the love of singing was her passion. She leaves to carry her legacy her daughter Deborah Hardrick, son-in-law Joseph Hardrick, grandchildren Chalae Currington, Joseph Hardick III, Lauren Warren, Tassanee Stewart, Cory Stewart, DZion Flenorl, Dion Flenorl, Frank Chapmen, Autumn Chapmen, Jaquan Chapman, great-grandchildren Cameron Edmondson, Kyrie Banks, twins Nikki and Nicole Harris, and Kingston Harris. To cherish her memories, she leaves her sisters, Evang Dorothy Alexander and Iris Puckett, and brother-in-law Stanley Puckett, and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and close friends. "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom docket himself with ornaments and as a bride adoreth herself with her jewels." ~ Isaiah 61:10.
