Nació el 4 de febrero de 1955 en Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, México, hijo de José Federico Abundis y Herlinda Abundis. Su historia comenzó en tierra humilde, bajo cielos abiertos que parecían susurrarle el camino que tenía por delante.

A los 14 años, con sueños más grandes que su edad, Humberto cruzó a los Estados Unidos: joven, decidido y sin miedo. Se convirtió en el primero de sus diez hermanos en graduarse de Harlingen High School, un logro que no solo marcó su éxito personal, sino que abrió un camino que él despejaría incansablemente para los demás.

Houston se convirtió en el lugar donde su corazón encontró su ancla. Allí conoció a Alma Delia Abundis, el amor de su vida, y el 7 de abril de 1978 comenzaron una sociedad para toda la vida, marcada por la risa, la resiliencia y un vínculo irrompible. Juntos construyeron una familia: su mayor alegría y su obra más orgullosa.

El liderazgo de Humberto brilló con fuerza en los polvorientos y gastados campos de fútbol de Houston, donde entrenó a una liga varonil del centro de la ciudad y la llevó a múltiples campeonatos. Tenía el don de inspirar a los demás, una chispa que iluminaba cada lugar al que entraba. Veía potencial donde otros veían límites; sacaba grandeza de quienes aún no sabían que la llevaban dentro.

En 1986, impulsado una vez más por el llamado de la oportunidad, mudó a su familia al norte y echó raíces profundas y duraderas en Lewisville, Texas. Allí fundó su primera empresa de construcción: manos endurecidas por el trabajo, corazón suavizado por el propósito. En cada subida y caída, trabajó con determinación, con fe y con la convicción inquebrantable de que proveer para la familia es un trabajo honorable y sagrado.

Humberto era un hombre imposible de pasar por alto. Su presencia llenaba una habitación antes de que sus palabras la alcanzaran. Era una chispa viva: honesto, sin filtros y completamente él mismo. Si tus sentimientos se lastimaban con facilidad, te advertía que no te sentaras demasiado cerca. Sin embargo, detrás del humor mordaz y la agudeza rápida, había una compasión que se revelaba en los momentos que más importaban. Podía transformar un momento pesado en risa, uno silencioso en una historia, y uno ordinario en algo inolvidable.

Apoyaba al que iba contra todo porque él mismo lo fue, porque luchó por cada centímetro de terreno que ganó. Y llevaba esa lealtad con fiereza hacia su amado Cruz Azul y sus Dallas Cowboys, celebrando sus victorias como si fueran propias.

Humberto Abundis fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres, José Federico Abundis y María Herlinda Abundis, y por cuatro hermanos: José Federico "Cosme" Abundis, Héctor Abundis, Janie Hernández y María Leticia Sánchez. Tres nietos: Robert Allen Roy Stanfield, Sebastian Eugene Abundis y Uriel Foster.

Humberto deja al amor de su vida y esposa por 47 años, Alma Delia Abundis, así como a sus cinco hijos y siete nietos, quienes continúan llevando su espíritu adelante:

Humberto Abundis, age 70, went home on December 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy carved from courage, devotion, and unshakeable spirit. Born on February 4, 1955, in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Jose Federico Abundis and Herlinda Abundis, his story began in humble soil, beneath wide-open skies that seemed to whisper of the journey ahead.

At 14 years old, with dreams larger than his years, Humberto crossed into the United States—young, determined, and unafraid. Humberto's leadership shone brightly on the dusty and worn soccer fields of Houston, where he coached an inner‑city men's league to multiple championships. He had a gift for inspiring others, a fire that lit every room he walked into. He saw potential where others saw limits; he pulled greatness from those who didn't yet know they carried it.

In 1986, driven once again by the call of opportunity, he moved his family north and planted deep, lasting roots in Lewisville, Texas. There, he built his first construction company—hands roughened by labor, heart softened by purpose. Through every rise and fall, he worked with grit, with faith, and with an unwavering belief that providing for one's family was honorable, sacred work.

Humberto was a man impossible to overlook. His presence filled a room before his words ever reached it. He was a spitfire—honest, unfiltered, and utterly himself. If your feelings bruised easily, he'd warn you not to sit too close. Yet behind the sharp humor and quick wit was a compassion that revealed itself in the moments that mattered most. He could turn a heavy moment into laughter, a quiet moment into a story, an ordinary moment into something remembered.

He cheered for the underdog because he had been one—because he had fought for every inch of ground he gained. And he carried that loyalty fiercely for his beloved Cruz Azul and his Dallas Cowboys, celebrating their victories as if they were his own.

Humberto Abundis is proceeded into death by his parents, Jose Federico Abundis and Maria Herlinda Abundis. Four siblings, Jose Federico "Cosme" Abundis, Hector Abundis, Janie Hernandez, and Maria Leticia Sanchez. Three grandchildren, Robert Allen Roy Stanfield, Sebastian Eugene Abundis, and Uriel Foster.

Humberto leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Alma Delia Abundis, and the five children and 7 grandchildren who carry his spirit forward:
