Hilda Jean Kirk ,   ( 8/22/42  -  2/26/2025 )

A Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, daughter and friend passed away on February 26, 2025 in Dallas, Texas.

Hilda was born on August 22, 1942 in Ripley, Mississippi, to Bill and Ripple Nance.

Hilda moved with her family from Mississippi to Clint, Texas in January 1953.  She attended school at Clint  and graduated in  1960.  Throughout her school years, she played volleyball, tennis, basketball as well as being a cheerleader. During her senior year of high school, she met the love of her life, James Kirk.  James and Hilda married on November 18, 1961. James and Hilda moved to Lewisville in March 1974 where they built their life together and raised a family. They were blessed to spend 29 years in marriage until James passed in 1990.

Hilda was the definition of a homemaker, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and serving others.  She was the first to volunteer for anything at the schools and was always a team mom for both sons in all youth sports and activities. Hilda's commitment to her family never wavered during her life. Hilda was the biggest source of encouragement and support for her husband and sons.

After the passing of her husband James, she worked for LISD in the food service department managing the school cafeteria.  This allowed her to spend time with kids and be around other people. Hilda retired from LISD in 2007 in order to spend more time with her family and friends.

Hilda is survived by her oldest son Kevin Kirk and wife Lisa, youngest son David Kirk and wife Ashley , and brother Wayne Nance.  Hilda also leaves behind her loving grandchildren who were the light of her life:  Colton, Caylee, Clayton and Grayson Kirk. Hilda is preceded in death by her husband James Kirk, and her parents Bill and Ripple Nance.  Also, Homer and Hazel Kirk and Donald and Jeanne (Kirk) Hibler.

Hilda was an outstanding woman who  had a positive impact on her family and friends due to her kindness and servant heart.  Her legacy was her ability to always put others' needs ahead of herself regardless of the circumstances.  Hilda loved God and loved her neighbor, which she demonstrated in her daily life. Hilda was, and always will be, an inspiration to her family and others who knew her by the life she lived and the example she set forth. We will all miss her dearly and cherish her memory.

May she rest in peace knowing that her family and friends are blessed to have been a part of her life.

There will be a Visitation Sunday, March 9, 2025, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Mulkey-Mason Chapel, Lewisville, Texas.

A Graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, March 10, 2025, at McCurley Cemetery, Lewisville, Texas.
