Henry Thomas Varner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2025, at the age of 93.

Henry was born on August 9, 1932, in Milford, Texas, to Virgil and Beulah Varner. He was the youngest of their children and was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lochlin, Burl, Gerald, and Norma. He grew up in Italy, Texas, where his family farmed and instilled in him the values of hard work, faith, and family that guided his life.

After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army with assignments in Germany and France, Henry returned home and began a career with International Harvester, where he worked faithfully for 39 years. It was there he met the love of his life, Mary, and together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Henry and Mary raised two sons, Mike (wife Juanita) and Paul (wife Christie). He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren—Michael Ethan, Ashlyn, Jacob, Manda, and Thomas—and great-grandfather of four. Nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with his family.

He loved the simple pleasures of life—fishing on a quiet morning, tending to his garden, and watching sports, especially cheering on his Texas Longhorns. Most importantly, Henry's faith was the foundation of his life. He read his Bible daily, lived out his Christian values with humility and kindness, and was a devoted member of Flower Mound United Methodist Church, where he found fellowship and joy in his Sunday school class.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 5th, at 10:00 a.m. at Flower Mound United Methodist Church, followed by a reception. Graveside services will take place the same day at 2:00 p.m. at Waxahachie City Cemetery. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations made in Henry's honor to his beloved church, Flower Mound United Methodist Church.

Henry will be remembered for his steady faith, his gentle spirit, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
