Harold Thomas Hamlin

Harold Hamlin, age 94, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a beloved daddy, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, brother, cousin, faithful friend, and mentor to countless people throughout his life.

Born on December 23, 1931, in Denton County, Texas, Harold was the son of Herman and Goldie Hamlin of Lewisville. He spent his childhood in Lewisville and attended school in the Bethel community.

Harold lived a life marked by hard work, faith, and a genuine love for people. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, a career that reflected his determination and strong work ethic. His Christian faith was at the center of his life. He loved the Lord and sought to live
out his faith not simply through words, but through the way he treated others. If you gave him five minutes, he would gladly share his love for Jesus. He never met a stranger and mentored many people. Whether someone needed encouragement, advice, or prayer, he was there. He
spent many hours in his workshop making crosses with John 3:16 inscribed on the back, giving them to anyone who wanted one. It was a heartfelt expression of his love and faith.

He enjoyed camping in the motorhome with Sissy and traveling to many of their favorite bluegrass festivals. Above all, Harold treasured the time he spent with his family. Harold married Sissy Frady on August 23, 1997. Together, they blended their families and shared five children: Larry Hamlin and his spouse, June Hamlin; Nita Gail Almon; Tinker Blake and her spouse, Dennis Blake; Tanya Massengale and her spouse, Philip Massengale; and Randi Castanuela and her spouse, Rick Castanuela. Harold was a loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild and he cherished each one of them. He is also survived by three nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Mills Hamlin; his daughter, Nita Gail Almon; and his grandson, Noah Brown. Those who knew Harold will remember his kindness, witty humor, and wisdom. His Bible was his favorite book, and he read it daily. Because of his faith in Jesus Christ, his family is comforted in knowing that this is not goodbye, but a temporary separation. He completed his earthly journey leaving a legacy that will endure for generations.

Service Information
A celebration of Harold's life will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Flower Mound Cemetery, 1912 Flower Mound Road, Flower Mound, Texas 75028.
