Grace Louise Lawrence Obituary
(May 18, 1947- August 27, 2026)

Grace Louise (Jones) Lawrence, a resident of Highland Village, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the age of 79. She was born on May 18, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to David Jones and Grace Sasportas. Grace has one sister, Stella A. Goings, M.D.

Grace is survived by her loving husband of over 42 years, William C. (Bill) Lawrence. They were first introduced to each other by the Pastor of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Stamford, Connecticut, where they were also eventually married, two years later on June 23, 1984.

Grace was a very successful businesswoman, with a professional career that spanned over three decades before reaching the top-level as a Vice President (VP), Finance & High Technology Infrastructure at GTE Corporation. Grace Lawrence also received national recognition for her skilled and successful Team Leadership of the company's $19 billion dollar Finance and Human Resources high-tech infrastructure integration program in the June 8, 1998 edition of Information Week Magazine. Previous to her illustrious accomplishments, she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority at Findlay College in Ohio, before attending Ohio State University, where she majored in mathematics. Her talented background further included a love for playing the piano and regularly serving as her church's youth choir musician and mentor of profound impact.

In addition, she contributed greatly not to just her home and marriage, but to her community as well. She enjoyed being a Lewisville Symphony Orchestra key board member and trusted advisor from 2012-2025. She also served as a long-time enthusiastic volunteer worker for the Medical Center of Lewisville in the Marketing Area and was a very gracious First Lady of Highland Village, Texas from 2000-2006.

Overall, Grace Lawrence lived a beautiful life. She was a lovely, excellent and unconditionally loving wife, a beloved mother of three adult children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as, the strong Anchor of her blended family. She is further remembered by all who knew her as a delightful, kind, elegant and graceful woman. Grace's unwavering love for her family, and her faith in God gave her strength through times of pain and illness. She will be greatly missed.

Grace is also survived by her sister, Stella A. Goings, M.D., daughter, Antoinette M. Ellis, son, Robert David McDonald, stepdaughter, Kimberly A. Lawrence, granddaughter, Elizabeth E. Sapp, grandsons, Robert Alexander McDonald, James Mason McDonald, step grandson Agape Ivan Lawrence, step granddaughter, Savannah Sapp and great granddaughter, Alice Joy (AJ) McDonald and great grandson, Elias James (EJ) McDonald, grandniece, Christiana Ferguson and great grandniece, Kayla Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Christopher David Goings and her step granddaughter, Amani Lawrence Edwards.

Family and friends may gather at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville for a Service of Remembrance on September 12, 2026. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm and the Service at 2:00 pm.
