Georgina Fernandez Bond, a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025 surrounded by her family at the age of 92.

She was born in Mantanzas Cuba on January 3, 1933 to Manolo Fernandez and Mercedes Bernat.  As a young child she and her family moved to La Havana  Cuba.  As a young adult, Georgina spent her time working as a legal secretary for two attorneys that were fighting against Fidel Castro's regime and the rise of communism.  After the Bay of Pigs Invasion, Georgina fled her beloved Cuba, leaving behind her family and all that she knew.

Georgina worked immensely to learn a new language and build a new life in the United States.  After moving to Amarillo, Texas, she met her love, Kennison (Bud) Bond.  They were wed in May 30, 1964 and in a few years, their daughter Allison joined the family.  Together, Georgina and Bud brought her mother, Mercedes to the United States in 1969.

Georgina worked in the oil and gas industry for many years until she ultimately retired from Mesa Petroleum in Amarillo, Texas. Georgina and Bud left Amarillo and moved to Flower Mound, Texas in 1992.  During a portion of her retirement, Georgina owned and ran Anthony's Flowers in Coppell, Texas for twelve years.  After selling Anthony's Flowers in 2006, she devoted herself to her only granddaughter, Daniela.   She would pick her up after school, help her with her homework, and attend her dance and cheer performances.

She is processed by her parents, Manolo Fernandez and Mercedes Bernat, brother, Manolo Fernandez Jr. and spouse Kennison Bond. Her survivors include her  daughter, Allison Bond Medina and spouse, Julio Medina, granddaughter, Daniela Medina, numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

The viewing will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 11:00 am at the Mulkey Mason Funeral Home.
