George Orrin Sanders, son of Orrin and Lillie Sanders, was born on April 19, 1943 in Alexandria, Minnesota. He grew up and attended school in Hoffman, Minnesota, where he graduated from Hoffman High School. After attending business college in Minneapolis, he returned to Hoffman to work in his parents' Chevrolet dealership.

George married Marilyn Anderson in December 1966. In 1973 they moved to Richardton, North Dakota and continued the Chevrolet tradition of his dad and brother, owning George Sanders Chevrolet. After moving to Texas in 1986, he was a longtime salesman and used car manager for Huffines Chevrolet. In retirement, he continued in car-related businesses with his sons, owning and operating an auto labeling company and a transport business.

George enjoyed years of fishing and camping and had the privilege of traveling all over the world. He was involved with the Boy Scouts and Lion Club and once served as the City of Hoffman's police commissioner. His backyard woodshop provided hours of enjoyment throughout the years.

Faith and family were of most importance to George. He was a member of Lutheran churches all his life. He had a remarkable way of connecting with people, never meeting a stranger. His gentle spirit and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on many lives.

George was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Walt and sister-in-law Marcia. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Sanders; two sons, Scott (Lisa) Sanders and Jon (Stephani) Sanders; grandsons Jordan and Beckett & Grayson Sanders; step-grand-daughters Kendahl and Kristin Hahn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lawrence and Gloria Anderson and brother-in-law Roger and sister-in-law Carol Kirsch.

George died on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Denton Rehabilitation Center. He was 83 years old.
