Frederick Loren Riley - father, grandfather and brother went to be with the Lord on Monday November 25, 2024

Fred was born August 28, 1928 in the small town of Roanoke, Illinois to Frederick and Pearl Riley.

Fred was the youngest of 3 brothers and 2 sisters who preceded him in death, Wilmer, Esther, James, Roy, and Lorene.

Fred married Naomi Florence Shafer in 1953, they had 4 children together:

Daughter Ellen, Married to Carl Breidenich, Daughter Lynn, Married to John Stevens, Son Chad, Daughter Kathleen Married to Thomas Ames.  Wife Naomi passed away in July of 1990.

Fred married Nancy Flick Beran in 1993 and has a beloved stepdaughter Brandi Beran

He was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Carl, and Sarah (Ellen). Katherine, Dawn and Christopher (Lynn). Daniel (Chad). Lauren and Kendall (Kathleen).

He has 18 Great grandchildren-too many to list but room for more

Fred has touched the lives of many people: both relatives and friends of which there are too many to name individually.

Fred retired in 1974 after serving in the United States Air Force for 23 years and worked in Finance with the Civil Service for another 20 years.

Fred liked to grow vegetables in his garden. Another hobby was taking Volksmarches (long walks) with Nancy in several cities across the United States.  Fred was also and Loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and the San Antonio Spurs.

Fred had a knack for developing life-long friendships with many people- among those were a fellow Air Force buddy Robbie Roberts, married to Adelaide along with George and Norma Ritter.

Services for Fredrick R will be at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Thursday, December 5, 2024.  The family will gather at 11:00am, service at 12 noon.  Graveside services will be held in Roanoke Illinois on Friday December 13, 2024 at 11am.
