Frances Virginia Starr, 75, went home to Jesus on July 7, 2023.  Frances was born on October 4, 1947, in Venezuela to Jackson A. Starr and Luisa Fourney.  As a child, she and her family moved to Texas where she spent her entire life.  Frances grew up in Texas as one of 5 children of Jackson and Luisa.

On March 9, 1968, she married Eloy Salgado, Sr, and began to build her family.  Their oldest child Elizabeth was born later that year, followed by Eloy Jr., Gema, and finally their baby, Viviana.  The family lived most of their life on Iris Lane in Lewisville.  Frances took great pride in her home and family.  Hosting dinners and pool parties for family and friends, or cheering on Eloy Jr. at soccer matches, were just a few of the things that she thrived in.  Her home was ALWAYS open, especially the kids in the neighborhood, who always considered her a second mom.  Frances never met a stranger and considered everyone she knew as a friend.  She loved to dance and watch telenovelas.  She was always smiling and enjoyed spending all her time with her children, grandchildren, and friends.

Beyond the entertainment and laughter that Frances always provided her kids, the one thing all of them can recall with clarity was the importance of Christ in their lives.  Some of their earliest and fondest memories were of getting ready for church on Sunday morning.  Frances always had a strong and constant faith in Jesus Christ and never doubted that a better place waited for her.  Although in later years, her health diminished and she often struggled with pain, her faith never wavered.  She knew that the Lord was with her and in the end would deliver her from all suffering.  While the family mourns the loss of their beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, they take comfort that she is singing and dancing with her parents and siblings and embracing the amazing love of God.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Luisa, her brothers, Jackson, Robert, Johnny, Nelson, and her sister, Ingrid.  She is survived by her son Eloy Salgado, Jr., and her three daughters, Elizabeth Hartline (Rodney), Gema Shuster (David), and Viviana Durham (Todd), as well as 11 grandchildren (Eloy, III; Austin; Madison; Ethan; Savannah; Lillian; Sydney; Ryan; Summer; Landon; and William), 1 great-grandchild (James) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
