Eveleta L. Feagins, age 91, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The daughter of Victor and Mary Silk, she was born on December 14, 1934, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Lewisville High School in 1953 and Texas Tech in 1970. In 1953, she married Gibson Feagins, and together they raised one son, Tim. The couple celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in August 2016.
The couple, colloquially known as Hoot and Pete, were a team from the very beginning. They built and ran several businesses together over the years, culminating in the tractor dealerships they owned and operated side by side from 1963 until their retirement in 2001.
Eveleta is survived by her son, Tim, and daughter-in-law, Laurie, her grandson Tolan, and his wife, Jessica, her sister, Sandra Morris, and many nieces, nephews, friends, former employees, and former customers. She is lovingly remembered, too, by the many people who called her Mom or Granny and whom she loved just as dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gibson, her parents, Victor and Mary Silk, her sister, Darlene, her brother, Randall Silk, and her daughter-in-law, Cindy Feagins. She was also predeceased by her many beloved dogs, Bippo, Tippi, Tammy, Bouncer, Penny, Sissie, Case, Little Bit, Amy, and Buddy, along with the many stray kitties she took in over the years.
A graveside service will be held Monday morning, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, Texas, followed by a lunch at the family's invitation.
