Eleanor Burns passed away on the 21st of Feb at the age of 102, surrounded by her family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 18, 1921, Eleanor was the daughter of Frederick C. & Edith Heine.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ed Burns. Loving & proud mother of Brian Burns (Cathy) and Lynn Burns Elliott (Ron) and "Tutu" to Ryan B. Elliott (Jessica) and Great Grandmother to Ava, who brought her much delight & laughter. Mom always looked forward to "Ava stories" of which there were many. Also, survived by her loving brother Frederick C. Heine, 10 years her junior.

She was a gracious, elegant member of The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, Lewisville. Eleanor was a founding member of the Gad Abouts, a women's fellowship organization.

Eleanor was her own person. She was classy, charming, beautiful, elegant and above all else, kind. Well known for her love & wearing of high heel shoes, wearing them well into her nineties (much to her physician's dismay). A weekly hairdresser appointment always kept her naturally white hair beautifully coifed ~ along with a can of hairspray & a satin pillowcase, that did the trick!

Eleanor, known for her needlework passions; crocheting, needlepoint & hand stitching quilts, created exquisite, beautifully done works of art & heart. At her passing, she was creating a "Tooth Fairy Pillow" for her precious Ava.

At Avanti, Miss Eleanor was known for sharing her delicious chocolate candies, which she received on special occasions from her brother Fred.

When asked her secret to a long life she would retort:

"I do what I want, when I want & when I darn well please!"

Miss Eleanor, you will always be remembered for a life well lived!

A Memorial Service will be held March 2nd at 11:00 am
