With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother Dorothy N. Burkham. She gained her wings and walked through heaven’s gate on October 12, 2026, at the age of 83 years.
Dorothy was born in Humble, TX and later grew up in Dallas, TX where she met the love of her life, the late William “Bill” Burkham. They married and went on to raise four beautiful children whom she loved and cherished dearly.
She worked in the manufacturing sector and was a Supervisor at Beckett Corporation where she retired after 40 years of employment. She was also a well-loved member of Royal Haven Baptist Church where she loved to worship the Lord and fellowship with friends.
Dorothy loved arts and crafts and had an exceptional talent for making greeting cards that were adored by all who received them. They were each uniquely made by the love that went into them. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally and loved to attend sporting or school events she was invited to attend. Family and making cards gave her great joy.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband (William “Bill” Burkham), father (George Gifford), mother (Ruby Gifford), sister (Eula “Pat” Robinett), brother (“Red”), son (Gary Burkham) and great-granddaughter (Mia Reyes).
Dorothy is survived by two sons: Robert Burkham (spouse Christina) and Michael Burkham (spouse Lisa), One daughter Sherry Dodd; Eight grandchildren: Brandy Reyes (spouse Alex), Jeremy Wilks (spouse Tasha), Brandon Burkham, Joshua Burkham (spouse Hannah), Lindsey Lopez, Jacob Burkham (spouse Laney), Ashlynn Burkham (spouse Gabriel) and Andrew Burkham; Eighteen great-grandchildren: McKenzie, Peyton, Grayson, Mason, Braydon, Easton, Presley, Charli, Corey, Chloe, Caitlyn, Ella, William, Claire, Malachi, James, Jordan and Chase.
