Dirk William Rochette Was born February 23rd 1958 in Poughkeepsie NY to Joyce (Skip) and Richard Rochette. He was the 1st of 5 children. As a child he grew up on a 20 acre estate and learned to love walking thru the woods, fishing in the pond, sleigh riding down the hill to the pond and riding bikes on the long driveway.

He attended Staatsburg Elementary, Haviland Middle School and later graduated from Franklin Delano Roosevelt High school. Growing up, Dirk loved sports. He enjoyed tennis and baseball the most. He played basketball on his home dirt court with the local neighborhood kids. He was on the track team in High school and was especially proud of coming in 2nd in the state during the championships for the mile walk. He worked at the local grocery store, the Grand Union, and then later decided to sign up for the US Air Force. He went to training school to be an airplane mechanic and later became a crew chief on an F15 Eagle fighter jet.  While in the air force he got to see much of the world, with stations of England, Okinawa, Italy, Florida, Washington, Virginia Beach.  He was especially proud of his participation in the 1st Gulf War where he was stationed in Saudi Arabia.

After 16 years in the military, Dirk left the military for civilian life. He settled in California, got married and then moved to Lewisville Texas, where he would remain for the rest of his life. He was a courier for FEDEX for 20 years and then retired. He had 3 children, all boys, Jake, Tony and Joey. Dirk was heavily involved in his children's lives. He was their baseball coach for many years. He enjoyed watching them play baseball at Lewisville High School, where he could always be heard screaming GOOOO FARMERS before every game. Anybody that knows Dirk, knows that all he cared about was his 3 boys. If you spoke to Dirk, he would almost definitely bring up his kids and then tell you a funny story about them, and then mention how proud he was of them. If you were to describe Dirk, the 1st thing you would mention was that he was a great father.

Dirk lived life to the fullest. Always the life of the party, never afraid to talk to people he didn't know.

He was a veteran, war hero, sports enthusiast (especially rooting for the Cowboys and Mets), a good son, a caring brother, and a proud father. God bless you, Dirk. May you rest in peace.

There will be a Celebration of Life Friday, June 28, 2024, 11:00 am, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Chapel, 740 S. Edmonds Ln., Lewisville, TX 75067. Burial directly after service at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 1:15 pm.
