Delores Barlow Walker was the first born to Frank Barlow Sr. and Mabel Barlow on March 17, 1947, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Later, with her younger brother and parents, they moved to Mobile, Alabama where she grew up surrounded by extended family and friends.

As she began her early education, her parents noticed her eagerness to learn, and she later graduated from high school with honors.  After attending Mobile Junior College for two years, she transferred to Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education in May 1969.  She did further study at the University of California, Riverside.  Her life career was an elementary school teacher.

On July 3, 1969, Delores married her college sweetheart, Lt. Colonel Herman Walker (USAF).  They traveled extensively both nationally and internationally.  To this union two boys were born – Herman Bernard and Allan Brian.  They continued to travel while mentoring their boys.

After her husband's retirement from the military, they moved to Lewisville, Texas and both secured a teaching position.  Later, they both retired to spend more time with their boys.  This busy Christian wife and devoted mother not only made quality time for her family but also took time to do community service work such as "Meals on Wheels".  In addition, she became an entrepreneur.  The product she invented, the "Desk-A-Doo", was well received by educational institutions around the country.

Suddenly, Delores' health began to decline, and before she could say good-bye to all, she peacefully transitioned at 12:20 AM on August 2, 2023, with her devoted husband for 54 years by her side.  Her parents and special aunt Ossie July preceded her in death.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Lt. Colonel Herman Walker (USAF – Retired); 2 sons, Herman Bernard Walker and Allan Brian Walker; 1 brother, Frank Barlow Jr. (Michelle); 5 brothers-in-law and their families; 3 sisters-in-law and their families; her best sister-friend Fannie Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She will forever rest in peace in her Eternal Home.
