David Ray Elliott, 77, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, service, and countless memories that will be treasured by family and friends for generations to come.

Born on October 13, 1948, David lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and devotion to those he loved. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1970, stationed in Okinawa as a mechanic. His service reflected the same values that guided him throughout his life: commitment, integrity, and perseverance.

On September 29, 1967, David married the love of his life, Sandra Elliott. Their love story began long before their wedding day. Sandra was David's first love, dating all the way back to the third grade where they shared their first kiss. Together they built a lifetime of memories and shared nearly 59 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, devotion, and unwavering support for one another.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Elliott; his children, Vanessa Stringer (Jon), Shane Elliott (Pam), and Paul Elliott (Shari); his grandchildren, Britany Gil (Alan), Tabitha Kertamus, Trevor Elliott, Taylor Elliott, Ethan Stringer (Faith), Chloe Elliott, and Alyssa Elliott; and his great-grandchildren, Xander Gil, Landon Gil, and Maya Stringer.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Kyle Elliott; his parents, David and Marguritte Elliott; his brother, Tommy Joe Elliott; his grandson, Avery Kertamus; and his great-grandchildren, Corbin and Ashton Gil.

For 35 years, David worked at DARR Equipment as Parts Manager, where he was respected for his knowledge, dedication, and dependability. Beyond his career, he devoted many years to the Lewisville Soccer Association as a coach, referee, and player, leaving a lasting impact on the local soccer community and the many young athletes he mentored.

David enjoyed cars, fishing, hunting, baseball, and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his love of Mountain Dew, cinnamon candy, and a good ballgame. Those who knew him best often remarked that he possessed the patience of Job—a steady, calm presence who rarely seemed rattled by life's challenges and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

David was the kind of man who could always be counted on. Whether helping fix a problem, offering practical advice, or simply being present, his family knew they could depend on him. His steady nature, generous heart, and remarkable patience were among the many qualities that made him so deeply loved.

Above all, David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joy came from his family, and he took immense pride in watching each generation grow and thrive. His quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and steadfast love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Though his passing was unexpected, the impact of his life will continue through the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched along the way.
