David E. Blankenship, 82, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away on October 28, 2023, in his home. He was born June 14, 1941, in Seymour, Texas, the son of Clayton and Evelyn (Pruett) Blankenship.

David graduated from Seymour High School. After graduation, he and Davine (Maxey) Blankenship married and celebrated 57 years as of February 15, 2023.

David worked for Republic Manufacturing (Cheyenne Mtn, CO), General Dynamics (Ft. Worth, TX), Jack Day Construction (Dallas, TX), Gregory-Portland ISD (Portland, TX), Baker Marine (Victoria, TX), Byrne Construction (Ft. Worth, TX). During this time, he worked as a mechanic, supervisor in commercial construction - constructing the Mini Towers on Stemmons (Dallas, TX), Mansfield High School (Mansfield, TX), DFW International Airport Sky Tram System (DFW Airport, TX), he was a high school building trades teacher/instructor and constructed and worked on offshore drilling rigs (Gulf of Mexico).

David is preceded by both parents, Clayton and Evelyn (Pruett) Blankenship in death.

David is survived in death by his wife, Davine (Maxey) Blankenship, (Lewisville, TX), is son, Gary Blankenship (Seymour, TX), his daughter, Cheri (Blankenship) Cline and her husband Brian (Lewisville, TX), five grandchildren, Brandon and Sarah O'Brien (Lake Forest, CA), Cody and Rebecca Cline (Lewisville, TX), Layne "Dusty" and Terri Cline (Shady Shores, TX), Casondra "Cassie" (Blankenship) and Tristan Buckhalter (Oklahoma City, OK), and Harlee Blankenship (Middleton, ID) along with 6 great-grandchildren, McKinley, Amelia, Josephine Hadley, Bentley and Connor.

There will be a visitation on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Chapel, 740 S. Edmonds Ln., Lewisville, TX 75067.
