Daniel James Boutiette, 37, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 30th, 2023. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, February 10, 1986 to John and Laura Boutiette. Daniel accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of eight and was baptized soon after. Daniel enjoyed playing the violin and was quite good at it. He excelled in school and had quite the appetite for reading and remembered facts in amazing great detail. He actively participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Daniel was dedicated to Boy Scouts throughout his teens and achieved the rank of Eagle Scouts in 2004 while in Troop One in Brentwood Tennessee. Prior to that he completed a challenging winter outdoor camping experience at The Boundary Waters High Adventure Base in Minnesota. That was perhaps his favorite memory of all. He just loved that whole trip. Daniel graduated from Brentwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee in 2005 and later attended NCTC in Corinth, Texas. Daniel loved to work and to help others. He held several jobs, his favorite being a dishwasher at Chili's in Flower Mound Texas, his most recent job. Daniel was a long time member at Temple Baptist Church on Flower Mound, Texas and also regularly attended Lewisville Lighthouse in Lewisville, Texas. Daniel truly loved going to church services and activities. It was a big part of his life. Despite all of his personal challenges and health challenges, Daniel persevered and did the best he could at whatever he was doing due to his great faith in Jesus Christ and knowing he would greet his beloved Grampy, Dr. John Balhuizen, in heaven one day. Daniel was a kind and gentle soul. He had a caring and compassionate heart and wished no harm to anyone. He loved to read out loud Scripture and post on Facebook the feelings of peace, joy and assurance that came to him as a result. He also read Scripture almost every night with his mother before he went to bed. His sharing on Facebook gave to others the message of Hope and encouragement, the message of the Gospel. Who knows how many people came to faith in Christ because of Daniel? Only in Heaven will we know.

Daniel is survived by his mother and stepfather, Laura and Bob Pegg III of Flower Mound, Texas, his father and stepmother, John and Kelly Boutiette of Kansas City Missouri, his brother, sister in law and nieces, Christopher, Amy, Scarlett and Evelyn Boutiette of Barboursville, Virginia, his brother, William Pegg of Flower Mound, Texas, his brother, Robert Pegg IV of The Colony, Texas, his paternal grandmother, Nancy Boutiette of Las Vegas, Nevada, his great uncle, Donald Ross of Independence, Missouri, his uncle, John R. Balhuizen of Prairie Village, KS, his uncle and aunt, Pat and Lisa Twomey of Oceanview, Delaware, his uncle and aunt and cousin, Jim, Sevy and Desmond Boutiette of Fort Wayne, Indiana, his cousin Joshua and daughter, Natalie Balhuizen of Belton, Missouri, his cousin Sarah Balhuizen of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, cousins in Holland and Sweden, his counselor and friend Traci Pyle plus all of his friends at Temple Baptist Church and Lewisville Lighthouse and so many others who blessed his life including his pet betta fish. Services will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Flower Mound, Texas on Friday, July 28th. A dinner catered by Chili's will be served at 6:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Daniel's life at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements handled by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas.
