Cyndee Louise Bohlman died peacefully August 25, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Paul; her sisters Dena, Myndee, and Theresa; her brother James; her son Seth; her daughters Sarah and Shelby; her daughter-in-law Genevieve and son-in-law Marcus; her adoring grandchildren Skylar, Charlotte, Daniella, Abigail, and Elias; and the hundreds of kids she helped to educate over the course of her career at Homestead Elementary.

Cyndee was born in Wichita, Kansas, the middle of five siblings born to Morris and Sue Gaines. She was raised in Denison, TX and, in a rare instance of right place at the right time, met her future husband at a softball game while visiting family on the other side of the country, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Their life together would take them to Austin and Carrollton, Texas, where they lived for over four decades.

Cyndee was a born musician and educator. Though her life didn't take a collegiate path toward either pursuit, her natural proclivity and passion shined bright. It's no surprise that all three of her children followed a similar path toward music and education in equal measure.

Her patient, tempered, and loving approach to life was felt in her home, classroom, and, most especially, her dinner table. She was a mom and Grammy to many more than her three biological children and five grandchildren. She was drawn to the toughest kid, knowing that all they needed was a little extra love and time. An example we can all try to live up to.

Services will be held at 4pm on Thursday, August 31st at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Carrollton, TX.  If possible, please wear Cyndee's favorite color, purple.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cyndee's name to the Texas Music Educator's Associate.
