Christine Bond Coons, 91, went to be with Our Lord on May 28, 2024. She passed peacefully with her family by her side at Rambling Oak Rehab Center after a short 5-1/2week fight with respiratory and heart issues.
Christine was born August 13, 1932, in Pea Ridge, Arkansas to Alvin & Ora Bonds. Soon after, she and her parents moved to Dardanelle, Arkansas where Christine was raised. She graduated from Dardanelle High School in 1950. in July 1949, she married Charles Lamoyne Carter. Immediately, he was drafted into the Army to fight in the Korean War for 3 years. Christine and Charles moved to Canton, Ohio where he was stationed before going to Korea. Christine went to work full-time for the local Telephone Co. and worked a part-time job at the local grocery store. She worked both jobs to earn extra money, to save for the down-payment on a house for their family.  About one and a half years later, Charles returned home on furlough and back to duty. Six months later Christine gave birth on her birthday, to a little pre-mature girl, Brenda Kay, who passed away later that same day in Dardanelle, AR. A few years later Christine would give birth to a son Steve Aubrey and a second Daughter Diana Lee. Charles returned home after the war and worked a job working in a coal mine. A few years later he would start an Exterminating business and Christine went to work for Lear Jet Aviation as an Electrical control board technician.  After 20years of marriage, Christine and Charles divorced in early 1969.
In June of 1970, Christine would marry Evans Coons and they would continue to live in Wichita, Kansas for a year before moving to San Antonio, Texas. Evans had three children from his previous marriage Martin, Susan, and Sharon who lived with their mother. Christine had Steve and Diana. Christine was married to Evans until his passing in 2008. Christine then moved to Flower Mound to be near her last living child Diana and lived there from 2008 to 2024.
Her interests included family, gardening, painting, and reading her bible every evening. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her family members. She was a strong Christian woman and example to her family. Her charm and smile could light up a room at any given moment.
Christine was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Kay Carter, and son Steve Aubrey Carter, and is survived by one daughter, Diana Lee Myres, and Spouse, Johnny Myres of Flower Mound, Texas. She is also survived by 2 Granddaughters, Danielle and husband Brian Roberts, and Brittany Gilligan, and 1 grandson, Britton Carter. Christine has 6 Great-grandchildren: Noah, Harper, Cori, Jordan, Beckham, and Eli.
Christine was a kind and giving soul that loved unconditionally and never hesitated to step in and help when she saw a need that needed to be met. She Loved her family to her final breath.
Christine's services will be held at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home on June Fourth, two thousand twenty-four starting at 10:00am with a visitation/viewing time. The Victory service will start at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest @ Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Tx.
We will miss you, Mom/ Grandma Chris, until we are together again in Heaven. This is not Goodbye, it is, "See you soon."
