Catherine Ann Ueckert

November 17, 1956 - August 24, 2025

Born to James F and Linda Ruth Lohre on November 17, 1956, in the U.S. Army Hospital at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Our LORD Jesus Christ came and took Cathy home with Him on August 24, 2025, after a long struggle with brain cancer. She is preceded in death by her son James Castro, her parents, sister Mary Butler, and brother Robert Lohre. Cathy is survived by her best friend and husband of 31 years, Dean Ueckert, daughter Bethany Wooster, son Joe Ueckert and wife Megan, daughter-in-law Raquel Bendana, her sister Sister Patricia Marie Lohre IWBS, and grandchildren Haley, Sarah, Grace, and Lane.

Cathy believed and lived, God first, then family, loved ones, and friends. She was dedicated to serving God, His church, and everyone God put in her life. Cathy had the determination of her father and the selfless giving of her mother. She looked for ways to share her time and love both at home and at work. She was the epitome of wife, mother, caretaker, and friend, always making sure everyone was taken care of and included. We all knew we could depend on her because she gave us unconditional, forgiving love. Cathy had a true servant's heart, always striving to help, encourage, and mentor others.  She believed "you never know what is going on in someone's life, so you need to always be nice".

Work came as a natural part of her being, as she began at the age of seventeen. Cathy spent over 40 years in banking, where she achieved numerous awards and recognitions for her superior leadership and dedication. Her desire was to help coworkers and clients feel good about themselves and know that they were an important part of God's world. She built longstanding, caring friendships everywhere she went, always encouraging people to work hard, just do their job, and let God do the rest.

After retiring, she immediately returned to work, serving others through volunteering at various locations, including churches, dementia and elderly care facilities, homebound services, as well as special needs organizations, wherever she could make a difference by helping others.

It's evident how much she meant to so many by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support over the last year as she struggled with brain cancer. She always wanted to check on others to see how they were doing and if they needed anything. Cathy never gave up, worked hard, and would often say, "It's all part of God's plan."

We want to recognize and thank all the wonderful Angels at Rambling Oaks Courtyard skilled nursing rehab for their loving care and support over the last six months, and St. Phillips Catholic Church for their constant visitation, communion, and healing prayers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cancer organization/foundation of your choice.

Cathy truly loved us all and would say, "BE NICE, JUST BE NICE!"

A Rosary will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, 10:00-10:30 am, at Mulkey-Mason Chapel, 740 S. Edmonds Ln., Lewisville, TX. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am with the burial following, 12:30 pm, at Old Hall Cemetery, Lewisville, TX.
