A Life Well Lived
Born in Port Angeles, WA, Carolyn dedicated her life to love and family. Her unwavering energy and spunk endeared her to everyone she met. When her parents (Terry and Whitey Doll) moved to Albuquerque NM, some of her favorite trips was to visit cousins and family at the farm in Nebraska. Her three sons were born amidst the mountains of Tijeras Canyon. Here, she won bowling tournaments, earned cooking ribbons, and triumphed in shooting contests, all while riding her beloved horse, Tony, and playing competitive volleyball. As a 4H leader, she mentored the young girls in her neighborhood, generously sharing her time and talents. A move to Texas in 1976 brought new opportunities for the family, and Carolyn pursued a professional career, leading to a successful tenure with American Airlines. In retirement, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to Gulf Shores, AL, to be near the water.

Cherished Memories
Carolyn was vibrant, smart, and always sported the best smile. Her love for dance made her the life of every party. She enjoyed showcasing her cooking skills, often hosting friends and neighbors to savor her favorite dishes. Her homemade rolls were a playful source of hoarding arguments at the Thanksgiving table. Known as the neighborhood mom, her homemade cookies quickly disappeared whenever her sons had friends over. Her competitive spirit always shone bright, especially during card games, where she played to win.

Carolyn will be remembered for her impeccable style and beauty. Her hair had to be just right before she stepped out, a testament to her fashionable nature. She kept up with the latest trends and never hesitated to refresh her wardrobe.

Even as dementia dimmed the vibrant light of our beloved Carolyn, her desire to stay fashionable, with her hair and nails impeccably done, never waned. She continued to enjoy playing cards and dominos, fiercely competing to win.

Legacy of Love
Her legacy lives on through her children and their families: Michael Almond (Julie), Gregory Almond (Sheri), Curtis Almond (Jeanee), her seven grandchildren, and countless friends who cherished her.

Farewell Service
A visitation to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held on April 14th, 2024, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, TX, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
