Lewisville, TX – Carol Ann Martin passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on April 10, 2026. She was born on September 5, 1935, in Temple, Texas, to Robert and Dorothy Shaffer.

Carol graduated from Temple High School and Temple Junior College. She married Don R. Martin in November 1956, in Temple, Texas. After their marriage, the couple moved to Denton while Don completed his degree at North Texas State University. In 1972, they settled in Lewisville, where they raised their family and made a lifelong home.

A woman of faith and service, Carol was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Lewisville. She served faithfully as an elder and taught Sunday School for many years. She also shared her love of learning and books as the librarian at Timbercreek Elementary School.

One of Carol's greatest joys was volunteering at the Medical Center of Lewisville, where she dedicated more than 30 years of service and was honored as Volunteer of the Year. She also enjoyed spending time with her book club and remained an avid reader throughout her life.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Karen Ellis of Lewisville; her granddaughter, Emily Hasten of Lewisville (Nathan); and her grandsons, Cole Ellis of Prosper (Jennifer) and Nolan Ellis of Lantana (Brooke). She is also survived by nine cherished great-grandchildren: Jack, John, Elise, Graham, Cade, Kate, Lane, Noah, and Hallie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Shaffer; her beloved husband, Don Martin; and her son, Michael Martin.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2026, 3:00 pm, at First Presbyterian Church, Lewisville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christian Community Action Food Bank.
