Carol Louise Kron, 85-year-old resident of Flower Mound, died April 15, 2024, following a terrible fall. She was born December 24, 1938, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Trask Chandler Harvie and Olive Vera Park.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Kron.  She is survived by her siblings Ruth Wendover, Sue Scibor and Roger Harvie.  She is also survived by daughter Heather Caudell with sons Dalton, Quinn and Jake; daughter Laurel Dickson, married to Martin with children Sarah, Josh, Daniel and Thomas; and daughter Linden Wendle, married to Andy with children Will, Charis and Anna.

She was raised in Vancouver and moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, while in college. Carol received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 1962. She worked as a neurosurgery nurse for several years. During those years she traveled to Europe two times with nursing friends and had many adventures. Carol enlisted in the US Army, trained in Fort Ord, California, and served from 1967 to 1969 in Vietnam. She had many stories of Pleiku and Qui Nhon, the people, her barracks, and the patients.

She met Larry Kron while in Vietnam and they later married July 25, 1969. Carol and Larry lived in Missouri Valley, Iowa; Galesburg, Illinois; and Flower Mound, Texas, where they raised their family.  Carol spent countless hours babysitting the growing number of grandchildren, baking chocolate chip cookies, and knitting baby blankets to gift and donate. She continued her love of traveling with trips around the continental US, Alaska, and Hawaii. Carol worshipped at Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound and was an active member in quilting circles.

In the last years she moved to Pinewood Hills independent living apartment complex. She will be remembered as an avid reader, the best strudel and chocolate cherry bars maker, and a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Michigan Wolverines. She enjoyed afternoon teatime and a good chat with her girls about the Royal family.  Carol was a loyal friend, a selfless soul, and a devoted mother. The relationship she had with her daughters is her greatest legacy and something we all strive to replicate with our own children.  Her sudden death leaves us with a huge hole in our hearts. A marker will be placed in the Flower Mound Cemetery next to Larry.

A service to celebrate Carol's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, Texas. Visitation with family and friends will be directly after the service.
