Carol Sue Bennett graced this world with her presence on March 14, 1941, in the humble town of Lebanon, Oklahoma. Her journey through life was a testament of faith. Carol passed peacefully in the presence of her family on February 10, 2025, in Denton, Texas. Carol leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born to Stanley and Jessie Rutherford, Carol is preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Harold, brothers Bob Rutherford, Wayne Rutherford, sister, Polly Pruitt, surviving sister Betty Chaney. Her family roots provided a strong foundation for the compassionate and caring individual she became. Carol's professional life included valuable contributions Apple, Convex and The City of Lewisville before retiring and becoming the nanny that everyone loved.

Carol's life was one of connection and heartfelt engagement. Married to Frank Bennett on September 1, 1960, they built a life together that was rich in love and partnership. Though Frank preceded her in death, the love they shared continued to inspire all who knew them. Carol's family was her pride and joy, and she was the cherished mother/nanny who nurtured their growth and happiness. Her daughter Kelly, son-in-law Tracey, and their children, Tyler, Cassidy and Chace, along with Chace's wife Ashley, their children Dexter and Aurora. Her son, Tim, daughter-in-law Lara, and their children Maci, Cole, wife Makayla, their children, Jenson and Coleson. Taylor, wife Abbi, their daughter Landri. As well as, many nieces and nephews.

Carol's interest was a reflection of her nurturing spirit and faith. Her family was her world, and she relished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Whether attending birthday parties, sporting events, graduations, or simply enjoying casual family gatherings, Carol was there, her presence a source of comfort and joy. She loved Cardinals, the color purple and Diet Pepsi. Her culinary skills were legendary, particularly her mastery in pie making. Her cooking was a love language that spoke directly to hearts of those she fed.

Fondly know as Nanny, she never missed an opportunity to celebrate her loved ones. Birthday cards from her were more than just a tradition; they were a reminder of her unwavering thoughtfulness. Her loving nature was evident in every aspect of her life, and her presence brought comfort to those around her. Carol's thoughtfulness extended beyond her family, touching the lives of friends and community members alike. Carol's life was full of wit, her smile, wink and point of her finger was a symbol of the joy she found in you. To say Carol was loving, witty and thoughtful is to speak to the very essence of her being. She had a gift for making everyone feel special, seen and valued. To know Carol, was to know true joy. She was a living example that the simplest acts of kindness are often the most profound. Her spirit and faith are a guiding light of positivity and will continue to shine in the hearts of those she loved.

Carol's story is not one of an end, but a beautiful reminder that love endures, and the impact of a well-lived life is eternal. Let us carry forward the spark that Carol lit in each of us, living our lives with the same love, laughter and generosity that she so effortlessly embodied. We love you forever, mom/nanny.

An intimate Celebration of Life will be held in Crossroads on Saturday, February 22, 12:30pm at 151 E. Oak Shores Drive.
