Carlos Robert Ortiz, 75, of New York, passed away on October 22, 2026 in Coppell, TX. Robert was born in New York, NY to Roberto Ortiz and Neraida Vazquez on March 31, 1951. He went to school in the Bronx. He married Anita Ortiz on April 17, 2026 in Lewisville, TX. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School. He retired from the NYPD after 20 years and is a retired Veteran that served 35 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Robert was committed to serving in his community in the Bronx. Coach Robert led two baseball teams and a little league for the kids in his area.

Robert is survived by his wife, Anita Ortiz; his son Robert Ortiz and wife Ruth Ortiz; his daughter Monica Nicole Ortiz Huber and her wife Joy Huber; and his daughter Natalee Nicole Ortiz; his five grandchildren, Robert Carlos, Raquel Nicole, Rianna Leigh, Arielena Joy and baby, due later this month, Serenity Nicole. He also had family from Anita’s children, The Sias, Nelson-Gil and Gil-Hernandez families.

Visitation will be 7:00 pm November 3, 2026 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 7400 Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, TX 75067.

Burial will follow at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetary. Arrangements are made by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home.
