Bruce McClung, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on September 16, 2024. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Bruce grew up on a dairy farm in Palatine, Illinois, where he developed an unwavering work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. He proudly served three years in the United States Marine Corps, a testament to his dedication and resilience.

Bruce earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Southern Illinois University, launching his career at IBM Corporation, where he worked for seven years. He later took his talents to other companies, ultimately retiring in 2012 as Vice President of Sales at PFSweb, a fulfillment company.

Known for his infectious sense of humor and his trademark "Bruce-isms," he had a unique ability to bring laughter to any situation. In his younger days, Bruce was passionate about horseback riding, showing, and breeding Arabian horses. His culinary skills were equally impressive; he loved cooking and grilling, often creating farm-style, one-pot meals from his imagination rather than following recipes.

An avid reader, Bruce had a particular fascination with Civil War history, fiction, and a variety of other literature. His love for music was profound, with favorites spanning New Orleans jazz, rhythm and blues, country, and rock & roll. He found joy in the works of Willie Nelson, Wynton Marsalis, B.B. King, and Marsha Ball.

Above all, Bruce cherished the time spent with his family, who were the center of his world. His warmth, wisdom, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bruce is survived by his wife Carolyn McClung, son Jeffrey McClung, daughter and son-in-law Caryn and Jeffrey Davis, and granddaughter Catheryn, brother and sister-in-law David McClung and Bo Cunningham, sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Fred Cappuccino, as well as extended family and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be planned for a future date where friends and family will be invited to share memories and stories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Metrocrest Services (metrocrestservices.org) reflecting Bruce's love for community and service.
