Brooks Daniel Crane of Dallas went home to the Lord on Tuesday April 15th. Brooks packed more life and accomplishments into his 27 years here, than most people three times his age. Though fighting relentlessly from diagnosis to death, Brooks lost his 14-month battle with a cancer known as Ewing Sarcoma.

Brooks is survived by his parents, Peter and Kristen Crane of Lantana, his brother Conner Crane and his sister-in-law Martie Martinez, both of San Francisco, his Grandfather Donald Womeldorph and his wife Anne, both of Lantana, his uncles, Dr. Craig Womeldorph, Mark Storey and Ed Crane, and his aunts, Laurie Womeldorph and Barbara Crane.

Brooks must be having a celestial family reunion, as he was preceded to Paradise by his paternal grandparents Grace and Ed Crane, his maternal Grandmother Eileen Womeldorph, his Aunt Trish Crane Storey and his Uncle Terry Crane.

Brooks leaves behind a legion of cousins, friends and co-workers who will miss his love, laughter and indomitable quest for excellence in everything he did.

The story of this inspirational life began August 1, 1997, when Brooks was born in Kingwood Texas. Brooks and his family moved to the Dallas area in 2005, where young Brooks excelled at soccer, schoolwork and making friends. Brooks' scholastic prowess crossed state lines, as he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas in 2020, earning a Bachelor of Arts from the prestigious Sam Walton School of Business.

Supply Chain Logistics was his chosen field of expertise, and he applied his trade in the Dallas area, most recently as Operations Manager at Speedy Freight, a global transportation and logistics company. In his short time there, Brooks earned the trust, admiration and friendship of his colleagues.

Brooks' work ethic and fighting spirit will be honored with the creation of the Brooks Crane Warrior Award bestowed annually by Speedy Freight to individuals who overcome adversity in business.

Brooks had a practical mind, and an innate ability to fix things, whether it was a broken appliance, or the psyche of a friend bruised by some challenging obstacle along life's way.

Brooks Crane was up to any challenge, physical or mental. Just months before his cancer diagnosis, Brooks completed the Tulsa Marathon.  He had a wicked sense of humor and enjoyed the company of family and friends, music, an occasional cold beer and playing chef du cuisine on his backyard Blackstone Grill.

Life may have short changed Brooks, but he lived the time he had with no wasted hours. If anything was worth doing, Brooks did it and did it well.

We are most grateful to the Doctors, nurses and staff at the University of Texas Southwestern. Brooks received the most compassionate and loving care. We are especially thankful for the team on 11 GREEN who truly loved Brooks over the last several weeks.

Family and friends are invited to visit and celebrate his life at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville Sunday April 27th between 4-6 PM.

A funeral mass will be offered at 2 PM on Monday April 28th at St. Marks Church in Argyle, Texas. A reception will follow at Lantana Golf Club in Lantana, Texas.
