In Loving Memory of Brenda Lee Olsen

March 10, 1962 - October 17, 2026

"The most beautiful woman to have ever lived."

Brenda (Chava) Lee Higgins (née Olsen), 64, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, with her eldest daughter, Prissy (Katrina), lovingly by her side.

Born in Moorhead, Minnesota, Brenda was a woman of boundless love and extraordinary kindness, whose vibrant spirit could never be fully captured in just a few words. In her final moments, she was surrounded by the same unwavering love she had so freely given throughout her life, with her daughter beside her until the very end.

Brenda possessed a rare gift for bringing warmth and joy into the lives of those around her. Her kindness knew no strangers, and she greeted nearly everyone with an affectionate “baby,” “honey,” or “sweetheart.” She delighted in making others feel beautiful and appreciated, never hesitating to offer a heartfelt compliment, share a laugh, or even dance with someone she had only just met. Though naturally a little reserved at times, her warmth, sincerity, and spontaneous spirit had a way of making even the simplest encounters memorable. Beneath her gentle and tenderhearted nature was a woman of remarkable determination, a playful sense of humor, and just enough stubbornness to keep life interesting. Above all, Brenda remained authentically herself, a beautiful balance of grace, strength, warmth, and spirit that made her so deeply loved and unforgettable.

Nowhere did Brenda's love shine more brightly than in her devotion to her children. Their fiercest protector, greatest encourager, and most unwavering source of love, she took immense pride in every detail of their lives. Her daughters were lovingly dressed, meticulously groomed, and never permitted so much as a speck of dirt. Even the most uncooperative curls were no match for her determination, though the curling iron might have disagreed.

Brenda's appreciation for life's simple beauty began in childhood, when her beloved grandmother Ella taught her to find shapes in the clouds during life's darkest moments. It was a lesson she carried throughout her life, finding joy in nature, wonder in the sky, and beauty where others might overlook it. Having known darkness herself, Brenda made it her life's quiet mission to bring light to others, especially her daughters, to whom she passed along that same gift of finding beauty even in difficult times.

Perhaps the most poignant part of Brenda's extraordinary heart was that she seldom recognized in herself the beauty she so effortlessly saw in others. She spent her life reminding her daughters of their worth, their strength, and all that made them beautiful, while they wished she could have seen herself through their eyes. And perhaps that was their greatest resemblance: they saw so much beauty in one another, never quite realizing they were made of the very same light.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Michael, and her beloved daughters, Katrina Nizri and Abigail Higgins, who will forever carry her love, laughter, and remarkable spirit in their hearts.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable emptiness, Brenda's legacy lives on in every act of kindness, every unexpected compliment, every moment of laughter, and every beautiful sky that reminds us to stop and look up. Her daughters must now learn to navigate a world without her beside them, but they will never walk through it without the pieces of her that live within them. Her courage, compassion, and unwavering determination remain woven into the very people she helped them become.

And while those who loved her would give anything for just one more moment, they find comfort in knowing that love does not end where life does. For a woman who spent her life refusing to give up, she leaves behind a love that never will.

A private memorial ceremony will be held in North Dakota at a later date to honor Brenda’s life and memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to an organization dedicated to patient advocacy, compassionate care, and the protection of patients and their families.

May her memory be for a blessing, and may her soul be bound in the bond of eternal life.
