Billy H. Cruson went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was born on August 30, 1941 in Denison, TX to Jack and Velva Cruson.
Billy was a loving husband of 58 years to his wife, Anne. He was an amazing Daddy and Hero to two children, Kevin Cruson of Hickory Creek, TX and Kim Cruson MacDougall and her husband Nathan of Corinth, TX. He was the perfect PapPaw to three grandchildren, Kylie Nicole Cruson, Bryce Andrew Cruson MacDougall and his wife Kennedy, and Britton Jack MacDougall. Billy was a supportive example to his brother Kenneth Cruson of Denison, TX.
Billy was a graduate of Lewisville High School class of 1960. He was a 4 year letterman in Football and Baseball and earned All State Honors. Billy competed in Bareback Riding and Bull Riding, was the Vice President of FFA, and the class treasurer. Billy and Anne met in the fifth grade and were storybook high school sweethearts.
Billy and Anne were married September 3, 1960. He was a dedicated employee of John Deere Co. for more than 30 years. Billy continued to compete in Rodeo and earned his PRCA card in Bareback Riding. He was a charter member of the Lewisville Saddle Club where he remained involved in the western lifestyle and rodeo. He also raised horses and cattle and did commercial hay baling.
Billy was an example and friend to all. He always had a good story to tell and made people laugh. His pride and joy was his grandkids, who he loved and and never missed attending any activity or sporting event. His hard working and loving legacy will live on through his kids, grandkids, and generations to come.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Anne Cruson and his parents, Jack and Velva Cruson.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2023, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Lake Dallas Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas.
