Celebration of Billie Jean Parker

In loving memory of Billie Parker Sunrise December 12, 1942, Sunset February 02, 2024. Mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend.

Billie was born in Bessmay, Texas, the daughter of Willie Percy and Delia Jones.  Ms. Billie relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona while in high school and met her husband Leon Parker Jr.  They had four children Juanita (Fred Jones), Leon (Stephanie Parker), Marvin (Roxanne Parker) and Delia (Darwin Mims).

Billie was a military wife for many years and the family lived in Kansas, Arizona, Louisiana, and Germany before settling in El Paso Texas for the next 47 years.  Billie raised her four children as a single parent working parttime as a substitute teacher for the El Paso ISD and as a Special Events hostess at Ft. Bliss. She enjoyed working at her church Mt. View Baptist church and volunteering at the Thrift Store that supported the Child Crisis Center for over 20 years.

In 2014 Ms. Billie relocated to Lewisville, Texas so her children could assist with her health needs. She moved to Evergreen Senior living, made new friends, and joined First Baptist Church in Lewisville.  She loved her church and her Sunday school class. She became a popular resident in her Apartment community. As her health continued to decline, and her world became more and more limited and in pain, she made the decision to leave this body and be with our Lord & Savior and she refused any further treatment.

Ms. Billie was proceeded in death by her parents and her brothers Tommy, Marvin, Anthony, and Calvin.  Remaining siblings include brother Abdul Mohammad and wife Beverly, sisters Tina Mack and husband Donald and Evelyn Reed and husband Howard.

She has four grandchildren Camille Parker Mims, Morris Parker Mims, Marvin Parker, and Jayden Parker.  The Jones boys given in love through marriage Freddie, Kenneth, and Anthony.

We would also like to recognize Arthur Rhodes who provided a lifetime of support, friendship and devotion to Billie and her children. We love you.
