Betty Cantrell Royston passed peacefully into the awaiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 16, 2026.

Betty Joyce Cantrell Royston was born on December 9, 1934, in Garrison Texas to Forest Homer Jimmie David Cantrell and Cloma O'Neil Barton Cantrell. Her father worked for Acme brick company, and they moved to Denton Texas where she attended high school. In 1948 her family moved to Bridgeport Texas where she met and married the love of her life, George Buel Royston, on July 11, 1950. Betty and George moved to Lewisville Texas in December of 1961, where they raised their two sons Bobby and Jimmy. She resided in Denton County until January of 2022 when she moved to Henderson Texas, living with her son Jimmy and daughter in law Anne. She was very active in the Lewisville community and was a member of the Jaycee-Ette's and served on the March of Dimes committee, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she also worked as a hairdresser for several years. Betty was an active life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary from 1965 up until her death. She held many positions within the local, state, and national levels of the organization including state president in 1990-91 and was a mentor, cherished friend and loved by many of her VFW family. She thoroughly enjoyed her time in support of our nation's veterans and had many friends throughout the country that she met through the VFW and Auxiliary that she spoke with often as they were her extended family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, son Robert Wayne, Brother Jimmie David Cantrell, and sister-in-law Betty Ann. She is survived by her brother Johnny Cantrell and wife Patty, son Jimmy and wife Anne, grandson Aaron and wife Bethany, grandson Brandon, great grandson Jackson, great granddaughter Madsion, great grandson Ryder, nieces Sheri Simpson, Brandi Campbell, Allie Mastney, Kelly Cantrell, grand puppies Prince and Penelope and so very many of her auxiliary sisters, friends and family.

Services will be arranged by Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville Texas on Saturday January 31, 2026, at 10:30am with family visitation on Friday January 30rd from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Interment will be at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville Texas.
