Barbara Lanell Scoggins died peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday February 4, 2026.  Barbara was born on July 22, 1945, in Whitney, Texas to Hollin and Addie Mae McAbee.  She enjoyed going to church and worshipping with her friends and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Barbara married her husband Glen Scoggins on July 30, 1965.  The two were lifelong companions and friends for 43 years until he preceded her in death on October 19, 2008.  She was also preceded in death by her parents Hollin and Addie Mae McAbee and her brother Kendall McAbee.  They were blessed with two children: Keith Scoggins and Trisha Wood.

She was an avid reader and active member of the Lewisville Church of Christ where she volunteered and helped cook meals for its members. She also led singing and prayer at her Ladies Bible class, volunteered at Christ Haven resale during their donation drives, and she also made sure her friends had a ride to church and medical appointments whenever it was needed.

Barbara is survived by her son Keith Scoggins and his wife Shelley and her daughter Trisha Wood and her husband Brad Wood.  She also is survived by her four grandchildren Garrett Huffman, Marcus Scoggins, Matt Scoggins and Mckenzie Scoggins as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

She will be remembered for her beautiful voice, fiery spirit, and her service to the Lord that served to strengthen everyone she met.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday February 11, 2026, at 11:00am with viewing one hour before the service at Lewisville Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at Restland Memorial Park after the funeral service.
