Barbara Jean Dalton, age 86, passed away peacefully on July 27,

2025, surrounded by family. She was born October 24, 1938, in

Dallas, Texas, to Corn Wall and Jeanette Katherine Denison Collins,

and preceded in death. She eloped and married her best friend and

love, Jerry Alton Dalton, in May of 1955, who preceded her in death

in 2006.

Barbara loved her family fiercely. She enjoyed crafting often, finding

joy in quilting and making homemade greeting cards. Her hands

were rarely still. She shared her love through cooking for her family,

such as fried green tomatoes for her grandsons and, of course,

hosting many holidays with all the fixins.

For many years, Barbara worked for both Dallas Independent School

District and Lewisville Independent School District. It was with

Lewisville Independent School District that she found her true life's

calling, working with severely disabled children. It suited her huge

servant heart. She always tried to do what was right and good by

being kind and helping others.

Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32: "And be kind and

compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God

also forgave you in Christ."

Barbara is survived by her three daughters: Lorie Lynn Butler of

Leonard, Texas; Lisa Ann Walraven and husband Scott of Hickory

Creek, Texas; and Leslie Kay Ruiz and husband Joel of Adair,

Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her only son, Dan Bob

Dalton Sr., and survived by his wife, Delora Denise Dalton of

Celeste, Texas. Barbara is also survived by her nieces, Cynthia

Mahavier, Debbie Tate, and Sheron Mo􀆯ett, as well as great

nephews Russ Mahavier and wife Julie and Brian Mahavier and wife

Stacy.

Barbara also leaves behind grandchildren Dan Bob Dalton Jr. and

wife Jeri "Annie"; James Michael Dalton; Karen Denise Dalton and

husband Reggie Raye; Sheri Shopher Melton and husband Timothy;

Clayton Joseph Butler and wife Samantha; Kristen Janine Butler;

Amy Nicole Walraven; Jeremy Scott Walraven and wife Rylie;

Madaleine Simone McCulley and husband Christian; Ethan Taylor

Ruiz and wife Kaycee; and Nathaniel Bailey Ruiz; plus 30 great

grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren, and many great

nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Barbara is preceded in death by her sister, Bobbie Ann Wright;

brother, Corn Wall Collins Jr. (Pee-Wee); grandson, John Christopher

Dalton; great-grandson, Jacob Joseph Butler; and nephew, Jimmy

Tate.

Please join us in celebrating her life Friday afternoon, August 1,

2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 South

Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas. Graveside burial to follow at Little

Elm Cemetery. Family & friends are also invited to attend during

visiting hours on Thursday, July 31, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at

Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home.
