Arthur F. Selander passed peacefully into eternity on July 17, 2025. Arthur was born  on February 16, 1952 to Floyd and Elaine (nee Johnson) Selander on the south side of Chicago, and grew up in the western suburbs.

Art loved music from a young age and became a gifted trumpet player, eventually earning a music scholarship to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Art changed his major to pre-law and subsequently earned his law degree in 1977 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he ultimately settled.

Art had various positions as an attorney before forming the well-known Dallas law firm Quilling, Selander, Lownds, Winslett & Moser with his friend and business partner Michael Quilling. Art was a gifted business litigator at the firm until his retirement in 2023.

Art's life-long love of music led him to serve as a long time, valued member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) Board of Directors where he served with passion until the time of his death. He rarely missed a DSO concert series and had a love of classical music. Art was an avid cyclist and reader and had many dear friends and colleagues.

Arthur is survived by his beloved brother Lee (Carol) Selander, cherished sister Karen (Kris) Selander Kelly, nephew Mark (Ryann) Selander, niece Katie (Mike) Herrmann and their three children Will, Nora, and Claire. Art was preceded in death by his beloved parents and grandparents.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
